Hip Pop Art is a movement spearheaded  by Rock Jackson in 2004 to document the impact of Hip Hop as culture on pop culture. One of the ways it does this is by documenting the founders, innovators & contributors of this influential global culture.



"As a contributor to Hip Hop culture my aim is to develop a catalogue of images to document & preserve its history. As hip hop matures public awareness of its roots is falling into obscurity.” Says Jackson.  This is why he has set out to create distinct imagery that celebrates the culture and serves as a physical record. 

 

His "Angels of Hip Hop" series honors those who are no longer physically with us, preserving their contributions as part of the living history and continuing legacy of Hip Hop culture. His "Hip Hop Innovators" series extends that mission by recognizing and celebrating the creators, visionaries, and cultural architects who are still with us, giving them their flowers while they can receive them. Together, the series form an ongoing visual archive that traces the lineage of Hip Hop, connects generations, and ensures that the people who shaped the culture remain visible within its evolving story.
